Gordon Brothers signs Lloyd Baker Leather as Radley handbag licensee

Gordon Brothers has signed a new licensing partner for Radley, following its acquisition of the handbag brand out of administration earlier this year.

Lloyd Baker Leather will develop, source, market and distribute Radley’s handbags and small leather goods across the UK, Europe, the US and Australia.

Gordon Brothers said the appointment will ensure continuity for retailers and consumers by preserving Radley’s market presence while positioning the brand for future growth.

The firm said it is actively evaluating opportunities in additional categories to reach new audiences while preserving Radley’s distinctive design heritage.

Carolyn D’Angelo, senior managing director, head of brand operations at Gordon Brother, said: “Radley is a beloved British brand, and we are thrilled to work with Lloyd Baker Leather.

“This agreement honors Radley’s legacy while supporting its continued evolution and expanding the brand’s reach by building upon Radley’s rich design tradition, including recent updates to the brand’s overarching aesthetic.”

Bobby Malhotra, managing director and owner at Lloyd Baker Leather, said: “Radley is an iconic British brand, and we are thrilled to work with Gordon Brothers to support its next chapter.

“By combining Radley’s distinctive design heritage with our category expertise and established capabilities, we are looking forward to supporting the brand’s continued growth across key markets with continuity for retailers and consumers.”

Gordon Brothers acquired the Radley brand and related intellectual property in May this year. However the purchase did not include the brand’s two shops and 19 concessions which have now closed.
