Marks & Spencer appoints director of third-party brands

Marks & Spencer has appointed Amazon executive Nishi Mahajan as director of third-party brands.

She will succeed Neil Harrison who stepped down from the role last year.

Mahajan has been working with Amazon since 2017, most recently as general manager of Amazon Fashion. Prior to this, she held merchandising roles at Arcadia, Country Road, David Jones and Debenhams.

According to Drapers, she will join Marks & Spencer’s clothing and home leadership team in mid-April. She will report to Richard Price who is managing director of the category.

Mahajan told Drapers: “Having watched M&S closely from the outside, I’ve seen the transformation that’s been underway and cannot wait to be part of the team driving this change.

“It’s clear that brands play a key role in the M&S future as a leading omnichannel retailer, and I look forward to developing a platform offer that is more attractive to our customers and brand partners.”
