H&M appoints former Inditex executive as chief information officer

H&M has appointed former Inditex executive Diego Teijeiro Ruiz as its new chief information officer, effective 25 May.

He will join the fashion group’s executive management team, reporting directly to chief executive Daniel Ervér.

Teijeiro Ruiz has worked for the last 20 years with Zara owner Inditex, starting out as a cybersecurity consultant before rising to the position of global chief data and analytics officer in 2018.

H&M said his expertise in product, supply chain, store operations and connecting technology to business needs will help elevate its shopping experience and strengthen its technology foundations.

Teijeiro Ruiz is replacing Ellen Svanström who is leaving the group to pursue other opportunities.
