Footwear giant Deichmann opens at the Ashley Centre

Footwear retailer Deichmann has opened a new store at the Ashley Centre in Epsom.

The launch of the 3,498 square foot shop follows a £400,000 investment by Deichmann to make it reflect the brand’s new retail format to deliver a more spacious and modern shopping experience.

The store offers Deichmann’s full range of shoes for men, women and kids, as well as exclusive lines from brands such as Adidas, Fila, Nike and Skechers. It also stocks the retailer’s footwear collaboration with the likes of Ellie Goulding, Halle Berry and Rita Ora.

Simon Wilson, managing director for product, marketing and communications at Deichmann, said: “Our latest store at the Ashley Centre is a huge investment and will enable us to deliver our wide variety of products to a new community. The designed retail format has gone down particularly well over the last few months, and it’s exciting to launch the new concept within a destination also undergoing significant investment, making Epsom a strong addition to our portfolio.”

The news follows the recent announcement that JD Sports will be opening a 4,453 square foot store at the scheme.

Louisa Butters, head of retail asset management UK at CBRE Investment Management, said: “Deichmann is a solid brand to have as part of the Ashley Centre’s retail mix. Suiting multiple demographics and delivering an assortment of likeable brands, they are a fantastic addition to the scheme, utilising a prominent space within the centre.

“We are continuing to deliver our long-term strategy to provide a broader offer, with the likes of JD and GAIL’s selecting the Ashley Centre, as well as welcoming one of the largest footwear retailers in Europe.”
