French Connection (also branded as FCUK or fcuk) is a UK-based global fashion retailer for clothing, accessories and homeware.
The brand dates back to the early 1970s when Stephen Marks was reselling Indian shirts, via a French contact. The brand started out with menswear and designer fashion and then expanded into womenswear.
The retailer was listed on the London Stock Exchange in 1984 under the abbreviation FCCN. It aims to have clean, minimalist designs that are fashionable too.
French Connection distributes its branded womenswear and menswear through a network of owned stores, and through franchised shops in major markets around the world. It also has concessions in department stores in the UK and has developed a variety of licensed products, including glasses, sunglasses, toiletries, shoes, jewellery and watches, which are sold through its own stores and in specialist retailers, such as Boots and Specsavers.
