John Lewis & Partners appoints Sean Allam as director of services

John Lewis & Partners has promoted Sean Allam to the newly created role of director of services.

The move is part of the department store’s plans to increase its range of services in the categories of finance, home assurance and home improvements.

Following the appointment, all the retailer’s teams with responsibility for delivering services will being brought under the new directorate. This will include Allam overseeing the categories of product services, financial services, hospitality, business to business and international development.

Due to take up his new role on 1 October, Allam will report to John Lewis & Partners managing director, Paula Nickolds.

Nickolds said: “We are committed to winning and maintaining our customers’ trust, and we are being very careful in how we approach our plans to expand our brand beyond our shops and online. Sean brings extensive knowledge of our business and substantial experience working collaboratively with teams across the division, and I am confident Sean will lead an exciting transformation of this area.”

Allam joined the John Lewis Partnership in January 2008 and is currently director of commercial operations. Prior to working with John Lewis, he held a range of commercial customer facing roles at Centrica and Mars.
