Travis Perkins Group names new managing director for Toolstation

Travis Perkins Group has promoted Lakhvir Sanghera to the position of managing director at Toolstation.

She will succeed Angela Rushforth who is retiring after 10 years with the group.

Sanghera has worked with Travis Perkins Group for nearly 14 years and most recently was finance, property and distribution director at Toolstation. Her time with group has also included over six years with Wickes where her last role was category director, specialist and multichannel.

She is also a diversity, equity and inclusion champion who has played a key role in the development of the Travis Perkins Group’s family friendly policies.

Geoff Drabble, chair of Travis Perkins plc, said: “Lakhvir has developed a great track record with the group and is well placed to oversee the continued expansion of Toolstation and to build on the current momentum we have in this business.

“I would like to congratulate her on her appointment, and thank the outgoing managing director, Angela Rushforth, for her contribution to the business and wish her an enjoyable retirement.”

Sanghera added: “I’m delighted to be taking on this new role at this pivotal time in Toolstation’s journey.

“Having gained experience across a wide range of functions, and been part of the journey to set the strategic direction of the business for the past three years, I am really excited to take Toolstation forward in the next phase of growth.”

Earlier in her career, Sanghera worked with Barclays Bank, Centrica and Barclaycard.

She will commence her new role in September.
