Boots extends late-night deliveries to 25 stores for World Cup viewing surge
Boots has extended its opening hours up to midnight across 25 new locations via Deliveroo to meet demand from customers watching World Cup football games.
Stores now offering on-demand delivery up to midnight now include places ranging from London’s Kensington and Clapham to Salford, Leeds, Edinburgh and Cardiff.
Subscribe to TRBBoots said that England’s summer evening kick-offs have driven increased demand for seasonal and health-related products. Suncare SPF orders have risen by almost 200%, while hay fever tablet sales are up over 80% in the hours leading up to England games. In addition, orders for ibuprofen have climbed by more than 50%, which Boots attributes to fans seeking recovery support the following morning.
Paula Bobbett, chief digital and data officer at Boots, said: “There’s no ‘nipping to the shops’ in the 75th minute of the England game, but we get that some things can’t wait and convenience matters – from a nappy blow-out emergency or a last-minute beauty fix ahead of celebrations.
“Now Boots can come to you, wherever you are with more evening and late-night delivery options for customers across the country.”
Suzy McClintock, VP consumer and new verticals at Deliveroo, said: “Football tournaments have a unique way of keeping the nation glued to their screens and nobody wants to risk missing a goal because they had to nip out for essentials.
“By extending our late-night delivery service with Boots to 25 new locations, we’re making it easier than ever for fans to get what they need, when they need it.”
