WHSmith opens new sites in Manchester and Liverpool airports

WHSmith has officially opened three new spaces across Manchester and Liverpool John Lennon airports as it invests in travel hubs in the north of the UK.

The new openings at Manchester Airport’s Terminal 2 include WHSmith’s first artisan coffee shop, Grindsmith, alongside a newly designed WH Smith travel essentials store situated next door.

Meanwhile, Liverpool John Lennon Airport has seen the launch of a new, larger one-stop travel retail destination. The store offers a full range of health and beauty essentials, food and drink, technology, books and magazines. The new concept builds on the successful introduction of WHSmith’s own-brand food range, Smith’s Family Kitchen, in 2024.

Andrew Harrison, interim group chief executive at WHSmith, said: “Manchester and Liverpool are airports millions of people across the North pass through every year.

“These openings, including our first artisan coffee shop, reflect our confidence in the region and our commitment to making every journey better.”
