M&S opens revamped and extended Orpington store
M&S has unveiled its new look store in Orpington following a three-month transformation and an extension.
The store was officially opened by M&S Food Ambassador Tom Allen who joined store colleagues and store manager Edward Lipscombe to cut the ribbon.
Subscribe to TRBSpanning 37.7k square feet, the full-line shop has been made 72% bigger than the old site which temporarily closed back in May to allow work to take place.
The fresh market-style foodhall includes a “showstopping” bakery that offers a range of baked bread and pastries. Customers can also grab a barista-made coffee or iced drink to enjoy while browsing and select items from a cheese barge and dedicated flower and wine shops.
Additionally, the store offers two floors of womenswear, menswear and kidswear as well as a beauty hall area.
Lipscombe said: “It’s been such a fantastic morning and we have been so excited to show customers what the store looks like now.
“Having Tom Allen join us has given the whole team a massive boost and I want to say a big thank you to our customers for their patience over the last three months – we are so excited to welcome you back.”
