Yohji Yamamoto to open flagship Mayfair store

Japanese fashion brand Yohji Yamamoto is to open a new flagship store on Conduit Street in London’s West End.

The company, which is well known for its genderless and unisex brand ‘Ground Y’,  has agreed a 10-year lease on a 3,500 square foot unit in a prominent location on the corner of Saville Row and Conduit Street in Mayfair, .

The shop will be situated close to other high-end fashion brands including MCM, Vivienne Westwood, Hauser & Wirth and John Varvatos.

Josh Braid, partner, co-head of Central London Retail at Knight Frank, said “After a competitive global marketing campaign we are very pleased to secure world renowned fashion designer Yohji Yamamoto for this prominent unit in the heart of Mayfair. The letting underlines the resurgence of London’s prime retail streets, with increased competition from global brands looking for space to showcase their designs in the West End.”
