Spanx appoints Cricket Whitton as its new chief executive

Shapewear brand Spanx has appointed Caroline (Cricket) Whitton to the role of chief executive.

Whitton most recently served as the brand’s president and chief growth officer and has been the driving force behind its digital transformation since joining the company in 2017. Prior that, she worked with Wayfair and Design Within Reach.

Sara Blakely, founder of Spanx, said: “I am so happy to announce Cricket as the chief executive of Spanx. Her deep commitment to our brand gives me a lot of confidence in the continued success of our business.”

Spanx has also appointed Jeanne Jackson as executive chair.

Jackson has decades of executive leadership experience gained from working with leading apparel, retail, and lifestyle brands such as Nike, Walmart, Gap, Victoria’s Secret, The Walt Disney Company and Saks Fifth Avenue. Currently, she is also serving on the boards of Moncler, Monster Beverage and Delta Airlines.

Blakely added: “I am also thrilled to welcome Jeanne Jackson to the Spanx family. Her unparalleled industry experience will be invaluable as we enter this next phase of growth and innovation. Cricket and Jeanne make a powerful team and I’m looking forward to working closely with them both in their new roles.”
