M&S to debut at London Fashion Week with shoppable collection
M&S is set to debut at London Fashion Week this autumn with a shoppable collection of womenswear and menswear.
The move comes in the same year the retailer celebrates a century in the fashion industry.
Subscribe to TRBM&S will take its place on the official LFW runway schedule alongside a range of top global designers and brands. The retailer’s show will feature a “see now, buy now” collection, with items available for purchase online and in flagship M&S stores nationwide, as well as in key international markets.
M&S also staged a fashion show in a working Formula One pit lane at Silverstone last week.
M&S chief executive Stuart Machin said: “I’d like to thank the British Fashion Council for supporting us in joining the LFW schedule. This is a special moment; for 100 years M&S fashion has been part of everyday life and now we will showcase our designs on fashion’s global stage.
“At M&S we focus on designing clothes with style, quality and value, and making fashion accessible to all. That’s why we will stream our show, bringing one of the world’s leading fashion weeks and the magic of M&S to everybody. Customers can shop the collections online or from M&S stores across the UK.2
“M&S at London Fashion Week builds on the M&S Summer show and our world-first pit lane catwalk at the Silverstone British Grand Prix. We look forward to our first LFW show at the in September and launching our new collection to everyone.”
Laura Weir, chief executive of the British Fashion Council, said: “As one of the great icons of the British high street, and a valued patron of the British Fashion Council, M&S has played an important role in the nation’s retail and cultural story for generations.
“Its debut shoppable collection at London Fashion Week is a significant moment, demonstrating how heritage, innovation and accessibility can come together to connect exceptional British design with consumers in new and relevant ways.”
