John Smedley opens third UK standalone store

Knitwear brand John Smedley has chosen London’s Marylebone for the opening of its third UK standalone store.

The new shop will mainly focus on the brand’s womenswear lines which have been steadily growing since being under the creative direction of Jess Mcguire-Dudley, John Smedley’s marketing and design director, and its designer Chloe Cooper.

Since their first range, which was for Spring/Summer 2016, sales of the brand’s womenswear fashion sales have increased by 35% at John Smedley’s retail and online stores.

Although the store design is aligned with the brand’s Jermyn Street flagship, it has a softer, lighter look and feel with new features that have been designed with the female consumer in mind.

Spanning 1,400 feet over two floors, the shop is the largest John Smedley store to date. Although the prime focus will be womenswear, both menswear and womenswear will feature across the two floors.

Ian Maclean, managing director of John Smedley, said: “We are delighted to launch our new store at New Cavendish Street in London’s Marylebone. The areas dedication to maintaining a mix of artisan brands, that represent the breadth of longstanding retailers, unique designers and desire to maintain a family friendly village mentality, is one that we feel completely aligns with our own desires for our brand.”
