John Lewis to roll out Topshop to 32 stores nationwide
John Lewis has brought Topshop and Topman back to physical retail as part of a major fashion push that will also include the addition of a range of new fashion brands in store this season.
The move is part of a broader £800 million multi-year investment to elevate the John Lewis shopping experience and follows the completion of a redesign of the fashion floors at the John Lewis Oxford Street store.
Subscribe to TRBThe centrepiece of the transformation is the return of Topshop to the physical high street after a five-year absence. This includes Topshop being made exclusively available across 32 John Lewis stores nationwide, as well as Topman being offered in seven locations.
John Lewis will celebrate the launch with a series of high-impact activations. These will include a Topshop kiosk outside John Lewis Oxford Street where shoppers can grab a complimentary matcha while browsing the latest styles in the Topshop Times newspaper.
In a partnership with the British Fashion Council and coinciding with London Fashion Week, the launch will also extend beyond the store with a Piccadilly Circus takeover featuring a live music performance. Activations will also take place in Manchester and Liverpool later this month
Peter Ruis, managing director of John Lewis, said: “This moment marks a significant acceleration of our fashion ambition at John Lewis.
“To be the exclusive home of an iconic brand like Topshop, sat alongside other exciting new brands, signals our commitment to be the definitive style authority on the British high street.”
Michelle Wilson, managing director of Topshop, said: “Today is about making it easier for customers to access the Topshop and Topman pieces they love. From our cult denim to new‑season footwear, you can see it, feel it and take it home the same day.
“Partnering with John Lewis brings Topshop back to high streets across the UK with the level of service our customers expect.”
Meanwhile, new brands joining the John Lewis’ fashion line-up include Samsoe Samsoe, Mother, St Agni, Aje, Ida Sjostedt, and Faithful for womenswear, alongside Belstaff, Percival, Parlez, OAS, Patagonia, and Stetson for menswear.
New jewellery and accessory brands will include Naghedi, MM6, Missoma and Completed Works.
