Dr. Martens expands into UAE with new distribution partnership

Dr. Martens has entered the UAE for the first time after signing a new distribution partnership agreement.

The shoe brand has teamed up with Beside Group, a partner in the Middle East, which has significant experience in retail and wholesale spanning several decades. After launch, the partnership will grow the brand’s presence in the UAE, initially through wholesale, with mono-branded store openings expected in the future

Dr. Martens has also teamed up with Crosby in Latin America on the opening of a store in Santiago in Chile this week. This is the brand’s second store in the region following an opening in Buenos Aires in Argentina in August. The partnership with Crosby will drive Dr. Martens’ reach in Mexico, Argentina, Paraguay and Chile and includes mono-branded retail stores and wholesale.

Dr. Martens said the partnerships mark an important milestone in its next phase of growth as it looks to enter new markets with capital-light models.

Ije Nwokorie, chief executive of Dr. Martens, said: “These exciting partnerships are consistent with our strategy of entering new growth markets to reach more consumers than ever before through a capital-light approach.

“We see enormous potential for Dr. Martens in the UAE and Latin America and are delighted to have two partners who really understand both the depth and breadth of our iconic brand.”
