John Lewis “supercharges” in-store experience with new specialist concessions

John Lewis is “supercharging” its in-store experience with an expanded line-up of specialist concessions, as it looks to develop destinations where “shopping meets discovery”.

The move forms part of the retailer’s £800 million brand transformation programme, which includes four store refurbishments this year.

Concessions are being introduced for bespoke travel specialist Audrey Travel and art gallery group Clarendon Fine Art. Audrey Travel will be launching interactive in-store travel hubs across 12 stores from November, while Clarendon Fine Art will be opening dedicated galleries in three branches by early October.

The concessions will sit alongside John Lewis’s signature partner-led advisory services, including home design, personal styling and nursery consultations, and complement existing partnerships with the likes of Tapi and David Clulow Opticians.

Katie Papakonstantinou, director of services and hospitality at John Lewis, said: “Our stores are the beating heart of the John Lewis brand, and physical retail is undergoing an exciting revolution.

“Today’s shoppers want far more than products on shelves, they want inspiration, helpful expertise, and extraordinary experiences.

“By uniting world-class specialist partners like Clarendon Fine Art and Audley Travel with our core expertise, we are transforming our stores into dynamic destinations that drive footfall and build customer loyalty.”

Meanwhile, preventative healthcare company Randox Health and piercing and jewellery brand Tish Lyon are both more than doubling their presence across John Lewis stores this year.
