ROX hires Ailsa Mackie as head of jewellery design

Luxury jeweller ROX has appointed Ailsa Mackie to the newly created role of head of jewellery design.

With over 20 years experience in the jewellery industry, Mackie will be responsible for the design of all ROX jewellery together with the brand’s new giftware and small leather goods offer.

Mackie previously worked at Asprey where she designed classic and bespoke pieces. This included a collaboration with light artist Chris Levine on the ‘The Diamond Queen’ piece for the Diamond Jubilee in 2012. As a freelance jewellery designer, she has also consulted for De Beers LV and a number of high-end luxury jewellers.

ROX managing director Kyron Keogh said: “After a two year search we are so pleased that Ailsa has joined the team at ROX as head of jewellery design. As a company, we’ve always had a fashion-forward, design-led focus so when we met Ailsa we were impressed by her passion for jewellery and attention to detail.”

Founded in 2002 by Keogh and Grant Mitchell, ROX operates an online store as well as shops in Edinburgh, Glasgow, Aberdeen, Newcastle and Leeds.

During the second half of 2014, the company is planning to expand into the wholesale market and secure listings with luxury department stores both in the UK and overseas.
