Bluewater welcomes American Eagle and Le Creuset

The Bluewater shopping centre in Kent has welcomed two new retailers – US fashion brand American Eagle Outfitters and cookware brand Le Creuset.

Making its debut in the UK, American Eagle has opened a 4,818 square foot flagship store on Bluewater’s Lower Thames Walk, as well as two stores at the Westfield Stratford and White City shopping centres in London.

Le Creuset has also opened at Bluewater with a 1,712 square foot store on the upper Rose Gallery, next to Jolie Papier’s UK debut store.

The latest additions bring the total number of brands to sign at Bluewater since July to seven, including the first Steamer Trading Cookshop in a non-high street location, Bill’s Restaurant, Rockar Hyundai’s new digital store, and fashion retailer White Stuff.  The latter has opened a 7,000 square foot statement store on Bluewater’s upper Guildhall, adjacent to The White Company, Apple and Hollister’s redesigned store.

The seven brands have taken a total of 23,597 square feet of space.

Other brands to open at the shopping centre this year include Five Guys, Victoria’s Secret, Pink and Adidas Homecourt.

Commenting on the latest additions to Bluewater’s line-up, Land Securities portfolio director Russell Loveland said: “Le Creuset and American Eagle bring the number of international brands selecting Bluewater for new stores to eight so far this year.  Each adds something different to Bluewater and reaffirms its position as a must-have destination for brands seeking a significant presence in the UK.”

Bluewater has also reported that sales at the shopping centre rose by 4.5% in October compared to the same month last year.
