Victoria Beckham to hold charity sale on The Outnet

Victoria Beckham is teaming up with online fashion retailer The Outnet to sell over 600 pieces from her personal wardrobe to help the Mothers2mothers charity.

The Outnet’s customers are being invited to register now for the chance to shop for pieces from Beckham’s wardrobe in a private sale from 20 August. All proceeds from the sales will go to Mothers2mothers – a charity which supports mothers living with HIV in sub-Saharan Africa.

In addition to the charity sale, ten items from Beckham’s wardrobe will be placed in a special ‘Going, Going, Gone’ sale. From 20 to 24 August at 9.30am and 3.30pm, an exclusive item will be sold in a reverse auction.

The retailer said all of the items in the sale have been chosen based on their history and personal significance to Beckham, and have been valued with the support of the Christie’s auction house. Items include clothing, jewellery and accessories from Beckham’s time with the Spice Girls as well those worn at red carpet events she has attended with husband David Beckham.

Beckham said: “In February this year I visited South Africa for a project that I was working on with Anna Wintour. It was on that trip that I met Mitch Besser, founder of Mothers2mothers, and the Mentor Mothers, who are the most remarkable women I have ever met.

“I came back from South Africa and thought, what can I do to help? I started going through my closet and found so many great pieces that I’ve worn and thought, maybe I can raise money by auctioning these off. Working with The Outnet has been so exciting for me – I just want to do whatever I can do.”
