Ralph Lauren hires Steven Murphy as consultant

Ralph Lauren Corporation has appointed Steven Murphy as a consultant to advise management on strategy and other business matters.

Murphy has served on Ralph Lauren’s board since November 2005 but will now step down following his new appointment. His previous roles include chief executive of Christie’s International and president and chief executive of Rodale.

Ralph Lauren, chairman and chief executive, said: “Steven has been a highly valued member of our board of directors and provided us with extensive insight and guidance during his tenure.

“On behalf of the entire board of directors, we thank Steven for his many years of dedicated service and look forward to working with him in a new capacity.”
