Waitrose begins recruitment for new fulfilment centre

Waitrose has revealed that it has started to recruit for the first 250 roles at its new dotcom fulfilment centre in Coulsdon in South London.

Set to open in Spring 2015, the centre will employ up to 500 people when fully operational.

The purpose-built six acre site will feature an 80,000 sq ft picking space that will help to more than double the number of online grocery orders Waitrose fulfils in London.

Roles will include customer delivery drivers, operational support partners and warehouse assistants responsible for picking.

Andy Kirby, branch manager for Coulsdon DFC, said: “I am really excited about building the team at Coulsdon, and the opening of this fantastic new operation which is hugely important to Waitrose’s online business in the capital.

“I look forward to meeting people who would like to find out more about all of the job opportunities that the opening of the Waitrose Coulsdon Dotcom Fulfilment Centre will bring.”
