Poundstretcher appoints finance director
Poundstretcher, has appointed Bob Marshall as finance director as part of plans to bolster its senior team.
The hiring follows the recent appointment of a new head of marketing as well as managing director Ian York joining the business in August last year.
A chartered accountant, Marshall previously spent three years at the Costcutter convenience chain and prior to that worked with Baird Group and Matalan.
Commenting on the appointment, York said: “With Bob’s experience working with national retailers he is extremely well qualified for the role and we are very pleased he’s joined the team. The past year has seen Poundstretcher go from strength to strength and I look forward to having Bob on board as we continue this over the coming years.”
Marshall added: “I believe there is a real opportunity to significantly grow the value of the business over the coming years, and am delighted to be joining Poundstretcher at such an exciting time.”
Poundstretcher currently has 409 stores after opening 15 new stores in the current financial year.
