Thomas Cook names two new non-executive directors

The Thomas Cook travel agency has appointed Jürgen Schreiber and Paul Edgecliffe-Johnson as non-executive directors.

A former chief executive of AS Watson Europe, Schreiber has a breadth of international experience across the retail and consumer goods sectors. He is currently the chairman of the advisory board of Aldo Group, a non-executive director of the Lidl & Schwarz Group, and deputy chairman of Edcon.

Meanwhile, Edgecliffe-Johnson is currently chief financial officer of InterContinental Hotels Group. During a 13 year career at IHG, he has served in a number of senior financial roles and acted as interim chief executive of the company’s former Europe, Middle East and Africa region.

Frank Meysman, Thomas Cook chairman, said: “I am delighted to welcome Paul and Jürgen to the board. Both have strong, relevant international experience across customer-facing businesses. I’m particularly pleased that we’ve been able to make these two appointments, which will help drive further strategic progress across the business.”
