M&S unveils new flagship store in Bath

M&S has unveiled a new flagship store in Bath’s SouthGate following a relocation of its former store in the city.

Spanning four floors, the 83,000 square foot space has M&S Food, fashion, home and beauty departments.

The ground floor features a 14,000 square foot market-style foodhall, including a flower shop that is triple the size of the previous space.  The foodhall also has a bakery and coffee counter serving takeaway barista-made hot and cold drinks, as well as bread and pastries. Elsewhere in the store there is a 140-seater M&S Coffee Shop offering breakfast and lunch options.

Alongside three floors of fashion, the store features a new 1,600 square foot beauty hall stocking M&S products and third-party brands, including Estée Lauder, ESPA, Hello Sunday, Bare Minerals, Iconic, Sam McKnight and Clinique.

On the top floor, customers will find a homeware collection, including the popular M&S x Kelly Hoppen homeware edit.

Bath SouthGate is one of more than 20 new or renewed stores M&S is launching across the UK in the second half of its current financial year.

Natalie Jordan, store manager at M&S Bath SouthGate, said: “We have a fantastic history in Bath, dating back to 1895 and it is brilliant to be investing in a brand-new flagship store in the city centre.

“Our focus is now delivering the trusted value and exceptional quality we’re known for – alongside a touch of that M&S magic.”

Laurence Budden, senior asset manager at British Land, added: “We are delighted to welcome Marks and Spencer to SouthGate Bath; they are the perfect addition to our strong line up and further enhance the mix for our visitors.

“SouthGate’s prominent city centre location and strong transport links create a compelling offer, and with this the scheme is now fully let.”
