Eldon Square names new centre director
Newcastle’s Eldon Square has appointed Helen Cowie as its new centre director.
Born and raised in the North East, Cowie has previously held a range of senior positions at Marks and Spencer across multiple regions, including Scotland, North East and North West England.
Subscribe to TRBIn a statement, the shopping centre said her experience in establishing new business streams will help drive innovation across all aspects of Eldon Square’s development as she leads its ongoing transformation.
The move comes as the scheme awaits several new arrivals this year including Next, River Island, Flight Club and Freight Island,
Matthew Beddow, senior director of asset management at Eldon Square, said: “We are thrilled to welcome Helen Cowie to the Eldon Square team. Helen’s wealth of experience and passion for delivering an excellent customer experience will be instrumental in shaping the future of the centre.
“With her strong background in the sector and her deep understanding of the evolving retail, leisure and entertainment landscape, Helen is well positioned to lead Eldon Square through this exciting chapter.”
Eldon Square is home to over 140 retailers, including John Lewis & Partners, Fenwick, Apple, Boots and H&M.
