British Land opens Broadgate Central scheme

British Land has officially launched a new retail and leisure destination in London called Broadgate Central.

Spanning 120,000 square feet across the ground and lower ground floors of 1 Broadgate and 100 Liverpool Street, the scheme will link Liverpool Street station to Finsbury Avenue Square.

Broadgate Central will be home to high-profile fashion brands such as Moss, Mango, Luca Faloni, Hobbs, Whistles, Tommy Hilfiger and Monica Vinader, as well as beauty and lifestyle brands including Boots Fragrance, Molton Brown, Space NK, Strip and Murdock London.

Kelly Cleveland, head of real estate and investment at British Land, said: “Broadgate Central redefines the City’s retail and leisure scene, bringing together leading brands in a vibrant, accessible destination.

“The strong leasing momentum across the campus, with only one floor of office space available, increasing footfall throughout the whole week, and office utilisation back above pre-Covid levels mid-week, reflects the benefits of our campus model and Broadgate’s enduring appeal.”

Tom Sleigh, chair of the City of London Corporation Planning and Transportation Committee, said: “Major employers and brands are reinforcing their commitment to the City of London as the destination of choice, in part, thanks to the outstanding public realm, retail and hospitality offer that developments like Broadgate Central are delivering.

“This is why we have seen a 7% rise in footfall into the City this financial year and are expecting further increases in the years to come.”
