Bicester’s Crown Walk acquired by LCP

The Crown Walk shopping centre in Bicester has been acquired by commercial property and investment company LCP.

Spanning 48,820 square feet, the centre comprises 25 units and is anchored by WH Smith.

Julian Diamond, retail director at LCP, said: “In the past 12 months, we have acquired 37 retail schemes – from small local convenience parades to larger shopping centres – as part of our long-term strategic plan to invest in this sector. Crown Walk marks a major investment and we are looking forward to working with tenants and attracting new names to the centre.”

Last year LCP maintained a 93% occupancy rate on its retail portfolio and invested more than £150 million in new retail schemes.

Crown Walk has recently agreed a letting with Warrens Bakery and has seen Coles Bookstore relocate to larger premises within the scheme. Other key tenants include Vodafone, H Samuel, Boots Opticians, Thomas Cook, Peacocks and Thomson.
