Ashford Designer Outlet opens new extension

The McArthurGlen Designer Outlet in Ashford has opened a new 100,000 square foot extension.

The centre’s line-up now includes over 130 brands after the extra space made room for an additional 40 stores, a new food piazza, an events space, a digitally-enhanced children’s playground and 725 additional parking spaces.

In addition, the £90 million project has created around  500 new jobs.

Peter Corr, the centre’s manager, said: “We are excited to be able to welcome customers to our beautiful new centre. This new phase will strengthen our position as the South of England’s go-to destination for fashion, food and homeware.”

Situated 38 minutes from London, the centre has a tented structure that was designed by architect Richard Rogers.

McArthurGlen is currently constructing a new centre near Birmingham which will be its its seventh in the UK.
