Ted Baker

Ted Baker was founded by Ray Kelvin in Glasgow, Scotland in 1988.

Ted Baker latest news

Ted Baker was founded by Ray Kelvin in Glasgow, Scotland in 1988.

The name was Kelvin’s self-styled alter ego who was an ‘intrepid aviator, an all-round sportsman and the consort of princesses and Hollywood beauties’.

Within a couple of years, the retailer had stores in Glasgow, Manchester, Nottingham and Covent Garden.

From the very beginning the brand has had a clear focus on quality and attention to detail. Ray Kelvin is no longer involved with the brand (but still holds a large share). Other notable people in the business include Rachel Osborne (CEO) and Helena Feltham (Interim Chair).

There are many Ted Baker standalone stores across the UK, and also a number of concessions in department stores such as John Lewis and Selfridges. There are also multiple locations in designer outlet parks such as Bicester Village and Cheshire Oaks.

Another key part of the business is the wholesale arm which began in 1994 through a careful selection of retail stores, which can be found all across the globe.

Ted Baker Products and Services:

  • Menswear
  • Womenswear
  • Children’s clothes

Ted Baker currently has 281 locations around the UK and Europe. The breakdown of these is: 45 own stores, 205 concessions, 21 outlets and 10 partner stores/concessions.

There are 240 more locations outside Europe, breaking down into 39 own stores, 64 concessions, 12 outlets, 104 partner stores/concessions and 21 joint venture locations.

On the Ted Baker  website people can order thousands of clothes and other products for home delivery and also view what items are available in -tore and where to find them.
