Making Retail Safer

Retail staff face more than just busy shifts and long queues—they’re increasingly dealing with verbal abuse, threats, and even physical violence. With over £480 billion spent annually in UK retail, protecting the people behind the counters is more important than ever.

Retail crime is continually on the rise. Most recent stats from the British Retail Consortium reveal over 2,000 incidents of violence and abuse are taking place per day, while USDAW’s 2025 survey reported 77% of its members had experienced verbal abuse and 53% had received threats.

Retailers are now looking for smarter ways to protect their teams—and body cameras are proving to be one of the most effective tools available.
