Zalando launches delivery service for third parties
Online fashion retailer Zalando has launched a new service which offers deliveries for third party fashion brands.
Called Zalando Fulfilment Solutions, the service gives fashion brands access to Zalando’s logistics infrastructure and know-how and sees the company take over the order fulfilment for partners from inbound to return.
The service is available to fashion brands appearing on Zalandos’online store but who normally handle their own logistics and deliveries.
Fashion retailers already using Zalando Fulfilment Solutions include Bestseller, Elvi, EVITA, Motion Fashion and Surf4Shoes.
Jan Bartels, VP logistics product at Zalando, said: “The Zalando platform is an operating system for the fashion world, with multiple ways of integrating all sorts of fashion contributors and stakeholders, catering to their specific needs. It offers not only digital services such as analytics or advertising but from now on also fulfilment solutions and thus, becomes the business strategy for brand and retail partners.”
With a logistic network that will soon consist of eight fulfilment centres in five countries, Zalando is piloting new offerings such as same-day delivery, geo-localised delivery or return on demand.
The service is available in 11 European markets.
