World's first pop-up mall to arrive in London
Roger Wade, founder of the Boxfresh fashion brand, has teamed up with retail property developer Hammerson to launch the worlds first pop-up shopping mall in London.
The Boxpark mall will be built using sixty shipping containers on a 4.7 hectare former railway goodsyard site in trendy Shoreditch.
The site will be developed in partnership with Hammerson and The Ballymore Group and will house Boxpark for the next five years.
Boxpark said the regeneration has the potential to deliver up to 2000 new homes, office space, and retail and leisure facilities in the longer term.
Designed by architects Waugh Thistleton, Boxpark will open in October.
Retailers are able to sign up for either one year or five year leases.
