Willow Place & Corby Town Shopping sign up new brands

NorthamptonshireÂ’s Willow Place & Corby Town Shopping has signed up four new retail and food and beverage operators.

Pep & Co, the UK’s new fashion clothing entrant, has taken 6,700 square feet at 20 Willow Place while fashion retailer Goddards has opened at 7B Willow Place.

In addition, regional ice cream and waffle retailer Italgaleto has taken 1,570 square feet at 34 Corporation Street while world food buffet brand ‘Vaagabons’ has signed for 2,500 square feet at 3-5 Corporation Street.

Willow Place & Corby Town Shopping was acquired in March 2015 by Sovereign and Europa Capital. The shopping centre comprises 800,000 square feet of space, including 146 retail units as well as offices and residential accommodation.

Situated at the heart of Corby town centre, the retail element is anchored by Primark, TK Maxx, Wilkinson and Boots. Other key tenants include River Island, New Look, H&M, Dorothy Perkins/Burton, JD Sports, Clarks, Costa Coffee and Peacocks.  The centre attracts an average of eight million visitors per annum.

Sovereign is currently implementing major new development and retail mix enhancement initiatives and is working on plans to deliver the next phase of retail development to the south east corner of the town which is an important gateway entrance into Corby town centre.

Simon Phipps, leasing development and asset management surveyor at Sovereign Land, said: “We are very pleased to have secured these new lettings which are part of our wider plans to provide greater diversity to Willow Place & Corby Town Shopping’s tenant mix. Corby is one of the fastest growing towns in England with more than 28,000 new homes being built by 2020, which provides us with an excellent opportunity to expand and enhance the retail, restaurant and leisure provision for this growing town.”
