Wigan's Grand Arcade welcomes New Look and Clarks

Wigan’s Grand Arcade shopping centre has announced two new major lettings.

Fashion retailer New Look and footwear retailer Clarks will both relocate to Grand Arcade from the town’s The Galleries shopping centre by taking almost 11,600 square feet of retail space between them.

New Look has signed an agreement to take a 8,108 square foot store which is due to open in late April. Meanwhile, Clarks has agreed to rent a 3,584 square foot unit which is expected to begin trading by late March.

Owned by Redefine International and anchored by Debenhams, Grand Arcade has an annual footfall of 6.1 million. The centre reported a 5.9% increase in footfall in the first month of 2015.

Nick Gregory, senior asset manager at Redefine International, said: “Both New Look and Clarks are a great addition to the diverse mix of tenants already established at Grand Arcade, acting as a strong endorsement of the shopping centre’s performance.  The presence of both brands will enhance the overall appeal of the centre as we pursue a value-increasing strategy across our entire retail portfolio.”
