White Stuff CEO named as business woman of the year
Sally Bailey, CEO of fashion and lifestyle brand White Stuff, has won the PwC Private Business Woman of the Year Award.
The award was made in recognition of Bailey’s achievement in transforming White Stuff from a small skiwear retailer to a fashion lifestyle brand with a portfolio of over 75 shops and a growing online and mail order channel.
The accolade follows a year of increased profits for White Stuff. The brand has invested £12 million in new shops and infrastructure - including new concept ‘Emporiums’ in Edinburgh and Nottingham, a new DC in Leicester and a new end-to-end IT system across the business. The business also has plans for international expansion.
White Stuff improved its ranking in the Times Top 100 Best Companies to Work For in 2011 and featured as one of Britain's fastest-growing private companies in the 2011 Profit Track 100 for the second year in a row.
Bailey joined White Stuff as COO in 2004 before her appointment as CEO in 2005. Prior to that she was brand director at Miss Selfridge and has also worked with retail giants Debenhams, Freemans and Arcadia.
