White Stuff announces new senior management appointments

Clothing retailer White Stuff has announced a number of new appointments to its senior management team.

Current chairman Vince Gwilliam will step down to become a senior non-executive director and will be replaced by Debbie Hewitt who is also chairman of menswear retailer Moss Bros.

Finance director Richard Steele is to leave the business after five years to spend more time with his family before exploring other opportunities. Nick Mather, the former La Senza CEO, will become the firm’s chief finance officer.

Sally Bailey, CEO of White Stuff, said: “I am delighted to welcome some new members to the White Stuff family to assist us in our next stage of growth.

“I would also like to thank Richard Steele, our Finance Director for his significant contribution to White Stuff’s success over the past 5 years and wish him well in his future pursuits.”

The retailer also announced that Jo Penny has become White Stuff’s new merchandising director, having joined from House of Fraser where she worked in a similar role for 14 years.  Antonia Long has been appointed as buying & design director having also worked at House of Fraser.

Ian McMillian has taken up the position of IT Director, joining from Marks & Spencer,  while Katie Grassby is to step back from her leadership of the buying and design team to become White Stuff’s style director after 17 years with the business.
