Whistles launches a mobile optimised site

The womenswear fashion brand improves international shopping options and search functions for its customers.

The launch of the site is part of a larger mission by the brand to offer a seamless shopping experience for all customers. Designed to work across all mobile devices, customers will be able to shop ‘on-the-go’ with access to the complete product catalogue and enjoy an advanced store search function.

International customers can also now shop Whistles in $ and €, as well as £, shipping to 44 countries worldwide.

The mobile site launched on 20th August, with the first 150 mobile orders receiving an exclusive Whistles phone holder.

The Retail Bulletin asked 'what were the key questions prior to the launch?'

1. What is the strategy behind launching the mobile site?
Our ultimate goal is to ensure that our customers can enjoy a seamless shopping experience throughout the channels. Optimising our site for mobile devices supports this.

2. Why use a site vs. a mobile app?
We felt that optimising the site, rather than building an app, would be a more future-proof and seamless approach.

3. How have you seen your customers shopping on mobile?
A large number of our customers were shopping on mobile devices already - we have aimed to make their experience easier and faster.

4. Besides the site, does the company have any other mobile plans in the works?
Not at this time.

Whistles ships internationally to the UK, USA, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, and Sweden.

Do not miss the Retail Bulletin’s Mobile Retailing Summit 26th September 2012. The theme for the day is: Improving sales, loyalty and customer experience in an increasing mobile marketplace.
