Whistles expands into China
Womens fashion brand Whistles is to expand into China and Hong Kong through a partnership with luxury department store Lane Crawford.
The expansion will see ‘shop in shops’ open in August in Lane Crawford’s Hong Kong store and its newly opened shop in Shanghai.
The brand will be situated in the contemporary area and will carry products from its catwalk show as well as best selling leather, cashmere and silk pieces. The collection will also be available at Lane Crawford online.
The move by Whistles to expand into China is part of the brand’s international expansion strategy, the first phase of which included showcasing its AW13 collection for the first time at London Fashion Week.
Earlier this year, Whistles opened a concession in Berlin department store Ka De We, adding to its existing locations in Printemps, Paris and Tsvetnoy Market in Russia.
Whistles grew its like-for-like sales by 20% last year and has seen double digit like-for-like sales growth in the first four months of 2013/14.
