WH Smith to roll out 100 Kobo experiential shops
WH Smith is to open a number of shops within shops to promote its Kobo ereader devices.
The new Kobo branded shops, operated in partnership with the Canadian company Kobo, will be opened in 100 WH Smith retail locations throughout 2012 following a successful trial of the 'Kobo Centre' in larger stores.
The mini stores will sell the full range of Kobo ereading devices including the Kobo Touch and Kobo Vox.
Mike Serbinis, CEO of Kobo, said: "We value our partnership with WHSmith and are excited to have dedicated, knowledgeable staff members who will educate WHSmith customers and introduce them to the benefits of Kobo.
“We know that in partnership with WH Smith we will deliver an engaging in-store experience that will demonstrate our expertise, best-in-class design, easy user experience, and innovative product line."
The shops will have a dedicated team of Kobo experts on hand to assist customers and will also feature an experiential centre where customers can try out the full range of Kobo devices.
