Welcome Break invests £1m in new Hopwood Park food court

Motorway service provider Welcome Break has kicked off its 2015 investment programme with the opening of the new food court at Hopwood Park services, just off the M42 in Bromsgrove.

Welcome Break invests £1m in new Hopwood Park food court

After the an initial three re-launches in 2014, the development is the first Welcome Break site in the UK to be re-launched this year with the brand’s new format. A further five further sites in the Welcome Break estate will receive a makeover over the coming year, including Leicester Forest East, Corley, Warwick, Gordano and Fleet.   

Hopwood Park was officially opened to the public on 13 March by Welcome Break chief executive Rod McKie and Cllr John Ruck JP, Civic Head of Bromsgrove District Council. The refurbishment represents around a £1 million investment by Welcome Break and has created 20 jobs in the local area.

As well as benefiting from an extended range of food and drink courtesy of Subway, Harry Ramsden’s, Starbucks and Waitrose, customers  are offered access to a large, multi-screen video wall, soft seating and booth seats, along with free Wi-Fi  and charging sockets.  

In a further extension to its investment programme, Welcome Break has also opened six new Starbucks drive-thrus across its portfolio at Fleet North, Hartshead Moor East, Membury West, Membury East, Gordano and Warwick South.  

McKie said: “Hopwood Park is the first of our sites to be re-launched this year, after an extensive £1 million investment. Over the next three months, five of our other sites will complete their renovations after a similar level of capital expenditure, ensuring our customers can enjoy even more of the warm, comfortable and rewarding experience that we’re known for, as well as top quality food brands and wider choices.”
