Walpole unveils Brands of Tomorrow line-up 2016
Walpole, the trade body for British luxury brands, has revealed its 2016 selection for its prestigious Brands of Tomorrow programme.
The programme will provide the 12 chosen brands with bespoke learning under the mentorship of leaders from companies such Thomas Pink, Harrods, Bremont, The Savoy, Rolls Royce and Alexander McQueen. The brands will also be offered one-to-one tutelage from industry leaders and a year-long workshop schedule, as well as access to Walpole’s established membership of over 160 brands and cultural institutions.
The winners were revealed at a ceremony at the Abraham Lincoln room at The Savoy where the chosen Brands of Tomorrow were invited to showcase their products across the hotel following the event.
The selected brands include contemporary womenswear label The Fold, urban cycling brand Blaze, luxury handbag company Milli Millu, Half Hitch Gin, bath products brand Noble Isle, and Aurelia Probiotic Skincare. Other brands making the list include handmade spectacles brand Cubitts, active wear brand Monreal London, lighting and furniture designer Tom Raffield, architectural mouldings specialist Solomon & Wu, product designer Richard Brendon, and bedding specialist Penrose Prodiucts.
Michelle Emmerson, chief executive of Walpole, said: “What Brands of Tomorrow recognises is the trailblazing brands who are championing innovation in their sectors. Discovering and nurturing new talent is a leading priority for Walpole and our members, and as luxury industry leaders it is our responsibility to ensure the future success and sustainability of a sector which is forecast to be worth £51.5 billion to the UK economy by 2019.”
