Waitrose appoints Rupert Ellwood as head of marketing
Waitrose has promoted Rupert Ellwood to the position of head of marketing.
Ellwood, who was previously the grocer’s head of retail operations for its shops in the south east, will be responsible for developing the Waitrose brand and marketing communications in his new role. This will include advertising campaigns, customer publications and events.
Reporting to marketing director Rupert Thomas, Ellwood succeeds Sarah Fuller who left the business last month to join Garden Centre Group.
Commenting on the appointment Thomas said: "Rupert has a proven track record, having played an important role in growing our business overseas.
"He brings with him a wealth of experience across a range of sectors and business areas, which will be invaluable in continuing to drive our marketing strategy."
Ellwood joined Waitrose in 2010 from Wineworld where he was managing director.
