Vision Express to sponsor Paralympian Harriet Lee
Optical retailer Vision Express is to sponsor Paralympian Harriet Lee to support her in the run-up to the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.
The collaboration involves Vision Express providing funding for the swimmer to undertake training while acting as an ambassador for the brand and supporting its charity initiatives.
The 22 year-old, who won a bronze medal at London 2012, has recently been selected for the IPC Swimming World Championships in Montreal.
The four year partnership with Vision Express will enable Lee to carry on training and competing in events, with the aim of representing Great Britain in Brazil in 2016.
As part of the sponsorship deal, Lee will collaborate with Vision Express on a number of levels, including representing the organisation in its involvement with the Childhood Eye Cancer Trust. A keen follower of fashion, she will also work alongside style-leaders Emma Forbes and Gemma Sheppard, who are faces of Vision Express, with their SalutingStyle partnership.
Jonathan Lawson, CEO at Vision Express said: "Harriet is a true inspiration to us all. She has overcome significant obstacles to achieve the impossible through sheer determination and commitment. We were particularly struck to hear that her bronze medal was not enough to secure adequate funding and are therefore delighted to be able to step in and provide her with financial backing.
"Harriet is a fantastic ambassador for Vision Express, she shares our core values and is a role model we can all look up to."
