Virgin Wines launches mobile website

Virgin Wines, the specialist online wine retailer, has launched a mobile version of its website.

Virgin worked with software company Moby to develop the mobile site following a threefold increase in the number of visitors to the Virgin Wines website in the last year compared to the previous year.

The new mobile site enables customers to mix their own case of wine or choose from a pre-mixed case.  In addition, the “My Account” facility has been streamlined for ease of use, making it easier for users to navigate and make their purchases. The company also plans to add auctions and and the facility for customers to rate the wines they have bought.

Commenting on the launch of the mobile site Jay Wright, managing director at Virgin Wines said: “During the last year we have seen a significant increase in the amount of visits to our website from mobile devices compared to the previous year.  We have launched the mobile version of our website in response to this, bringing our brand closer to our customers and those people who like to interact with us via a mobile device.”

Established in 2000, Virgin Wines now sells one bottle of wine every four seconds and stocks over 450 wines.
