Travis Perkins appoints new non-execs

Travis Perkins, the owner of the Wickes DIY chain, has appointed Sainsbury’s John Rogers and Taylor Wimpey’s Pete Redfern as non-executive directors.

Rogers is currently chief financial officer at Sainsbury’s and has previously held the posts of property director, director of group finance, and director of corporate finance at the supermarket.

Redfern is chief executive of house builder Taylor Wimpey and prior to that headed up George Wimpey.

Travis Perkins chairman Robert Walker said: "Travis Perkins operates in fast moving and highly competitive trading and retailing businesses.  We believe our board is best served by individuals who have demonstrated a track record of success in leading such businesses, either as CEO or CFO.

“We are therefore delighted to secure the appointments of Pete Redfern and John Rogers as directors. The range of skills on our board will be greatly enhanced by Pete and John's strong general management background coupled with their experience in a number of operational and finance roles. We look forward to their contribution to the future development of our group."
