Toys "R" Us to debut in Poland
The company, which currently operates 300+ stores in Europe, said it will add several additional locations in major cities throughout Poland in 2012.
Jerry Storch, chairman and CEO, said: “As part of our long-term growth strategy, we continue to look for opportunities to expand our footprint internationally and to identify new and emerging markets that would benefit from the distinctive products and services that Toys “R” Us offers.
“Toys “R” Us is one of the most iconic brands in the world and has always translated well to customers abroad. By leveraging our global position, we believe we can help grow the toy and juvenile market in Poland, while broadening our reach with both consumers and manufacturers across Europe.”
The Polish store will sell merchandise from major manufacturers such as Hasbro, LEGO and Mattel, as well as Toys “R” Us proprietary brands. The company also plans to build relationships with Polish manufacturers and will introduce their products in other countries in which Toys "R" Us operates.
Toys "R" Us will use its existing European distribution channels to stock the new store.
