Touchwood signs up Joules, Monsoon and Thomas Cook

The Touchwood shopping centre in Solihull has signed up a trio of new retailers including Joules, Monsoon and Thomas Cook.

Joules has taken a 3,693 square foot store which will stock the brand’s range of fashion, accessories and homewares, while Monsoon has signed up for a 4,045 square foot store adjacent to Apple, Hollister and Topshop.

In addition, Thomas Cook will open a 1,503 square foot concept store on the High Street which will offer ‘Hi-Tech, Hi-Touch’ approach including the use of social media technology so that customers can share personalised, holiday-related content.

All three brands will open next spring.

These latest additions will join stationery retailer Smiggle and the Five Guys burger brand, both of which have opened at Lend Lease operated Touchwood in recent months.

Tom Joule, founder and chief executive of Joules, said: “Joules has a strong customer base in the West Midlands and so the time was right to open another store in the region. Touchwood was the ideal location for us and our customers, with the centres attention to detail, central setting in Solihull and the strength of its recent performance.”

The news follows a successful year-to-date for Touchwood with October sales up by 3.4% compared to the same period last year.

Guy Thomas, head of retail leasing at Lend Lease, said: “Touchwood has a strong reputation as a high quality and very successful location for the best brands, which the arrival of Joules and Monsoon reaffirms.  Along with Smiggle, Thomas Cook’s new concept and Five Guys, they also demonstrate our commitment to providing an offer at Touchwood that sets it apart in the region.”
