Topps Tiles rebrands 12 clearance stores
Tile and flooring retailer Topps Tiles has expanded its UK store presence with the rebranding of twelve Tile Clearing House stores to Topps Tiles Clearance outlets.
The former Tile Clearing House stores are all situated close to existing Topps Tiles outlets in towns ranging from Wigan in the north of England to Plymouth in the south.
Tile Clearing House, formerly the biggest clearance tile retailer in the UK, comprised over 50 stores nationwide which were targeted at the value customer. The rebrand is part of a three-year conversion plan which has also seen more than 30 Tile Clearing House stores become Topps Tiles outlets.
The retailer said the rebranding exercise had raised Topps Tiles’ UK profile and boosted the brand’s national and local market share in each town. The final stage of the rebrand, to be completed next month, will bring the total number of Topps Tiles stores to 320.
The Topps Tiles Clearance stores provide a more distinct, value product range than Topps Tiles stores, with a focus on heavily discounted lines and one-off opportunistic buys. In addition, the stores will enable the group’s specialist buyers to identify new product lines and trends, procuring limited stock from international suppliers, which can then be sampled in-store to gauge market demand.
Matt Williams, Topps Tiles chief executive, said: "Our experience of the brand conversions has been very positive and we see the benefit of having our whole business aligned behind the Topps Tiles brand. This initiative will help us to deliver our goal of taking market share and I am delighted that as we move forwards all colleagues can feel part of one team and part of one brand."
