Tiger reports robust Christmas trading

Tiger, the Danish homewares and accessories retailer, saw its like-for-like sales increase by 6.48% in December.

Group sales climbed to £7,716,861 from £5,159,684 in December 2013.

Operating stores in London and South East, Tiger opened six new shops in 2014 to take the total number of stores to 30. Further openings are planned for early 2015 in St Albans, Milton Keynes, Islington, North London, and Canary Wharf, with more in the pipeline for later in the year.

Philip Bier, managing director of Tiger Retail, said: “We have experienced a very robust Christmas trading period this year. It has been particularly rewarding to see an increase of 7% per average spend this Christmas period, and an increase in the gross sales turnover from £5,159,684 in December 2013 to £7,716,861 for December 2014.

“2015 is set to be equally as busy, with new stores openings planned throughout the year ahead, meaning we can offer more valuable employment to a wide range of candidates.”
